Passport To Love: Cocktails and Details

While we were outside narrowly beating the the storm clouds for those last couple of shots, our guests were inside the venue enjoying passed appetizers and cocktails.

We originally planned to join our guests for cocktail hour, but with the storm closing in we decided to get as many pictures right after the ceremony as possible.

The guests mingled while dropping their cards into our card box, and leaving us sweet notes for our postcard guest book.

They picked up their escort card boarding passes and found the location of their tables from our map.

Notice anything different?  Yep after all the work (and injury) trying to have the passes stand up, our paper stands were no match for the wind.  The wind tunnel that was created every time someone opened that front door kept knocking them down, so our planner laid them all flat.  I never knew until talking with Kathie after the wedding and seeing these pictures. Things won't all work out the way you plan, and that's OK.  The only part that mattered was that they were there and the guests still loved them.

I loved the way everything came together inside the ballroom.  The flowers, the place settings, the lighting.  Everything looked amazing!!

The gobo of our monogram was a last minute addition once our head count was lower than budgeted.

Our sweetheart table was set up with our special linens and DIY chair signs. My bouquet would later be placed inside the vase to act as our centerpiece.

Our homemade chocolates and flip flop baskets were both a huge hit!  I saw many guests taking extra take out boxes on their way out and there were only 5 pairs of flip flops left out of our stash 45 at the end of the weekend.

Yep, PA is upside down.

With the ballroom opened up and our guests finding their seats, it was time for a quick shoe change before our grand entrance.

For those already married - what did it feel like to see your reception vision come together?  For those still planning - Do you think the details of your reception area will help to pull your vision together?
